Answers to "65 Deep Philosophical Questions" Part Five-nal: Get it? "Five-nal"?

Final Five. Here we go! :D

Here's the link for the website again, just in case.

61. What is beauty?

Answer: Apparently, beauty is within. "You are beautiful, no matter what they say..." ("Beautiful" Christina Aguilera reference). I know you might not believe it or see it but MOST people in this world are beautiful people.

62. Where do thoughts come from?

Answer: Well, these also come from within. I think, anyway. They are some of what identifies you as you.

63. Is mind or matter more real?

Answer: Well I'm an amateur philosopher, obviously, so I had to go and look up what the heck they meant by "mind" and "matter."

According to our distant cousin, The Free Dictionary:

"mind over matter =
the power of the mind to control and influence the body and the physical world generally.
I'm sure you can talk yourself into believing that you're well. It's a case of mind over matter.
Cambridge Idioms Dictionary, 2nd ed. Copyright © Cambridge University Press 2006. Reproduced with permission," (The Free Dictionary: mind over matter).
So the power of mind vs the power of matter? Oh god, idk. Uhm...well, maybe we cannot think about mind and matter as being two separate things. Maybe they can never be separate. Because we're trying to think that mind moves matter or matter moves mind, we are trying to think of them as two separate things (I'm repeating myself) but they are not separate, they are actually one thing. What to call that "thing" which includes mind and matter, I'm not entirely sure... If you have any ideas, that would be a great contribution to our philosophical lives as we know it.

64. What is time?

Answer: Time actually doesn't exist. Humans separated the day and the night into tiny slots and gave them numbers. Time doesn't exist in the animal world. When the days are fresh, green, and warm, the baby animals are born. When the days grow hotter, the babies grow up. Cooler days means that longer colder days are on their way and some animals begin to get ready for those days. Animals, I don't think, recognize seasons. It's not like "Oh, Spring is here, come on baby in my stomach, hurry up and be born!" or "Oh, Autumn is here, gotta hurry up and get ready for Winter and maybe find a mate and stuff." They just do what they need to do to survive and make sure their family trees never stop growing.

Maybe humans need time. Because our brains became so complex we need things, other complex things in our lives. Bedtime, supper time, lunch time, breakfast time, nap time, family gathering time, time to wake up, time to play, time to stop playing, time to go home, time to get married...these are all very complicated things that feed our complicated brains and put us at ease.

Another reason I think humans need time is because how complicated our society became. Maybe at first there were so few of us and we only had one leader for one clan who only needed to take the males to hunt and tell the females to cook and gather berries and nuts and care for the children. Now, take Africa, you know? Africa is one continent with several countries and each country has its own leader and then when you look further, there are company leaders and school principals and people in charge of this and that... Gets pretty complicated! Imagine the time management for all those things!

So, basically, time is our own invention that feeds our complicated brains and helps us organize our complicated lives. We humans are a very complicated species...darn it :/

65. How can people believe in truths without evidence?

Answer: Depending on who is telling the truth. You can probably believe a loved one, a child, family member all without evidence. But say a school teacher said your child bullies the other kids and that you must discipline him. But no, there is no evidence and at home, he is a great child! How can you ever believe it without evidence?

I guess I agree with the question then. How CAN people believe in truths without evidence in situations where the one telling the truth is not someone close to you that you would believe in no matter what anyway? How can they? Would you believe your neighbor if they told you no, they did not let the criminal climb into your window when obviously they were awake. No, they did not do that, they swear they are telling the truth. But you, you and your neighbors have never gotten along and there is no evidence...so how can you believe them?!

Sheesh! :0

Hey, hey! Look! Question number 65 has been answered! What does that mean you ask? It means that...

We have come to the very end. We have made it! :D

Yay! Turtle :D

And, awwwwww, look how itty bitty teeny tiny he is! :D

See ya later, alligators! I mean turtles :P Haha

P.S.
The questions that I said I would give them their own post, keep a look out! :D
