asking THE question: Why don't dogs come in stripes?

SO CUTE :D
This is a Bengal cat. You're probably wondering why I'm showing you a cat when this post is about dogs. Well then,

here's a Dalmatian for you.

And of course cats come in stripes.

Here's an orange tabby and a tiger cat to prove it.

As for dogs, well,

it seems that the closest to a striped dog are these boxer/bulldogs with coats called "brindle".

Otherwise we get these,
stupid Zebra pugs or other Tiger dogs that were probably just painted which is totally NOT GOOD for the dog. Paint is poison and will damage their skin and their fur. Health hazards. You're just doing it to boost your ego and become famous and some crazy people will think you are amazing for discovering the Zebra pug while most of the population would want you to NEVER HAVE A PET AGAIN and you will mostly likely be fined for animal cruelty.

Okay, let's come out of the negativity, alright? Clearly, very clearly, we can see that STRIPED DOGS don't really exist. I mean "brindle" isn't exactly the same as "striped", is it? It's more like "kinda striped and probably good enough but not quite".

But then, why don't dogs come in stripes? WHY?

Cats come in spots and stripes and sometimes even a mixture and sometimes even swirling patterns. Dogs are famous for spots, but still, how many spotted dog breeds are there besides the Dalmatian? When I say "spotted" I don't mean "speckled". Those are two different things.

Say, take a white canvas and draw an outline of a dog. Draw in spots. What would you do? You would draw circles and color them in, all over the dog, not make lots and lots of little dots all over, right? So there are Spotted Dogs and Speckled Dogs.

But there aren't striped dogs.

I am the first person, apparently, to ask Google "Why don't dogs come in stripes". Here are the results' page names from the top and only the first page of results because I'm not THAT desperate.

RESULTS

"If stripes are advantageous, then why don't horses and other ..." animals have stripes like zebras do?

Comment: Zebras aren't horses? I thought Zebras were the family of the equestrians, or something like that. And horses do come in "brindle". Duh.

So basically no one wondered why dogs don't come in stripes. I think they should come in stripes. It should be good for camouflaging and stuff like that. And don't some people do hunting for a hobby or something? A striped dog would blend in more with the undergrowth, I think.

See ya later, alligators :)
