Things in the middle of the road

I don't know if this is just in Japan but when I'm walking down the street, sometimes I see the strangest things lying around in the middle of the road.

Things I've Seen:

  • A shoe. I've never checked if I've seen a left shoe more or a right shoe more.
  • A sock. Usually flattened because so many cars have rolled over it.
  • A towel. Same situation as the sock.
  • A glove. Like a winter glove. Maybe some child dropped it...
  • A little sparkly key chain with a little cute thing on the end. Could have fallen from a bag or someone's phone or someone's purse or whatever.
  • A pair of dark blue children's pants. I looked around for a clothesline and found none. Where the heck did it come from...
  • Scarf. Seems reasonable to be there. Someone COULD drop it.
  • A half drunken Starbucks ice something cafe latte just sitting on the side of the road like someone sat down, put it there, and forgot it when they left.
  • Handkerchief. Someone must've dropped it.
  • Sharp pencil.
  • Eraser.
  • Someone's homework paper.
  • A small plastic bag that's tied up and has trash in it.
And on the road, like when you're driving around a busy place in a car, I've seen strange things...
  • A shoe hanging from its shoelace on the telephone wires up above so high...like a diamond in the sky...actually it's probably more normal to see a diamond in the sky than a shoe. A kid could have thrown it up there from a car but it's pretty high up... how the heck did it get up there...
  • A tire.
  • A piece of cardboard box.
  • A big black trash bag half torn up.
  • Someone's white t-shirt.
  • A metal stick-looking thing.
  • A wooden stick. Sometimes it's plural "wooden sticks".
Some of the things I can understand. A truck carrying garbage could have dropped it but things like clothing is really hard to understand how on earth they would end up there. The shoe is such a mystery. I've seen lots of shoes, always just the right or the left, lying in the middle of the road. The one on wire I've actually seen...probably about twice as far as I can remember.

So weird.

About John Titor again. Is Time Traveling Possible?

November 2012 John Titor: A Real Time Traveler???

So, this is a link to an old post THAT YOU SHOULD READ. I sometimes re-read my posts and I kinda had something to say about this one.

To think that time traveling might be real, we must think about one thing: Does the future exist?

Of course we know that tomorrow is coming or any near future is coming but does it exist before us in advance? Is the future, where time travelers like John Titor come from, the same future? If tomorrow doesn't exist until we get to it, surely 2036 won't exist until we get to it, right?

So that means that when a time traveler travels into the past, he couldn't have come from the exact same timeline. Maybe there are several different timelines where the same exact things happen. Like copies. And when you travel back in time in one of them, you travel to another timeline???? I'm getting so confuzzled.

But this is on the line that we believe time traveling exists. Does it and can it exist? Should it exist?

Another question, how can you give a prediction of natural disasters like earthquakes or exact estimates of the number of deaths in a war when the event that will happen is years later? Maybe you CAN, with a little practice, predict tomorrow or the next day but surely not three or four or more years later, right?

And again, is John Titor real? If he is, he'll be 17 today so someone in Florida needs to go and look him up. Not talk to him or anything. Just to make sure he exists.

Covers I made for Figment : 70th POST!!

Apparently this is my 70th post. That is so crazy! OMG! :D
The only thing that has kept me going is my love of writing and the fact that I know SOMEONE is reading my blog even though they might only read a few paragraphs. At least it's not ZERO.

So, let's get down to business, shall we? ;)

Figment users, can you guess which figgy I am? :)
A little detective work and anyone can figure it out.

These are some covers I made that I am a bit proud of and would love to share with you guys :)

Oh, good. The pic uploaded. I was having a bit of trouble with this in the post about rich people. Good. So, just to let you know, most of these covers I use pics I found on the web or PC wallpapers or iPhone wallpapers so I take no credit for the creativity of those photos. I just added and tweaked a bit (or a lot) to make it book-cover-ish. And if you're a figgy who makes covers, or just any figgy on Figment, you know where I'm coming from. Without further ado, here's the rest of it. And keep in mind that these are covers for stories so they represent whatever is in the story.

Background pic is my own original.

So, some of these are what I call "minimalistic editing". "In the White Box" is just added title and a little cropping, "Echo My Name" is a little color change and some title play as is the same with the last one of the emperor penguin baby, and "Revealed" is probably the only one here where I'm using an actual pic that I took myself. It was after a rainy day in Oregon, U.S and the sky was sunning up and it was so blue and pretty and it was all reflecting nicely in a puddle so I took a pic of that moment. It would have been awesome if a rainbow was reflected in that same puddle but, let's face it, that could have only happened if either I was A) Extremely lucky or, B) A Photoshop guru and I was not THAT lucky nor am I a Photoshop guru. I don't even know how to use that thing. I mean, where to even start? I'll need to go to art school and learn from like, how to cut and paste or how to use the mouse or basically just How To Photoshop like a Photoshop Guru.

Another point. "Survivor of Antarctica" is the only one that doesn't have a story attached because it was for a cover-making group thingy. I feel like I did a good job. What do you think? And I just, just, made this one. I made it on Jan 25, 2015.

So, yeah. There you have it. And I have no idea why the text is doing this "center" thing when I didn't even ask it to.

weird

strange

stoooopppp

Oh, well :/

See ya later, alligator :)

Being REAL in a FAKE World

So, recently I have begun to call myself a REALIST while not being entirely sure what it means so...

I choose you, Wiki-chu! (Pokémon reference, haha).

So, Wiktionary told me that,

"One who believes in seeing things the way they really are, as opposed to how they would like them to be" (Wiktionary: Realist).

Wikitonary: Realist

And there's the link.

There were actually two more definitions but this one seemed to fit context so here it is!

The first part talks about a realist and the second basically talks about a dreamer or someone who loves to let their imagination run away.

Huh. I like to do some imagination-sprees a lot of times...but I also like the real world to be talked of as real. And my father thinks this ruins jokes. Hey, I was just being sarcastic! Geesh!

So now that we know I'm both a realist and the opposite we can safely define me as a SEMI-Realist. This is very interesting because I'm also a semi-lots-of-other-things. I guess I'm a Semi. Yup, that seems to define me perfectly.

Oh, and you're probably wondering why I call this world "fake". Because it is! (Realist!) Women doll themselves up to look pretty but it is to LOOK pretty and even though they might be pretty without it they are willing to FAKE a different pretty to feel good about themselves...even though...they are already pretty...

Listen here now Mr. Rich Person,

I have tried to post a picture of lots of money and it's not working for some stupid reason so just forget it :/

So, what I wanted to talk about was rich people donating to charity just because they can. I know there are a lot of good-minded people who are rich but I feel like lots of people who get rich decide, suddenly, to donate to charity. It's like this:

"Oh, I got lots of money! I'm rich! What shall I do with all this cash? Hmm, I see lots of rich people who donate money to charity... sounds like a good way to get rid of this extra money! The rest I'll use to buy myself some brand-name items and large houses even though I only live with my two poodles / my husband and it's just the two of us / by myself / with my boyfriend / my son or daughter."

So, what is the point, huh? What is the point of your donation, Mr. Rich Person? Are you doing it because you care? Because now you suddenly care about the poor and the children with incurable diseases and the animals that are going extinct? Suddenly now that you're rich you decide to donate to charity? I would understand if you had been doing it before you got rich. Let me tell you about a true story that happened to the man who contributed to building my junior high and high school.

Once upon a time there was a young man who left closed Japan to go to the United States. He was called Joseph during his stay and he was passionate about Christianity that, at the time in Japan, was forbidden. He hoped to one day build a school that lived upon the Christian teachings.

One day, he is talking to a group of people about his passion to build a school in Japan that has Christian teachings as its base. He is older and wiser now and wants to return to Japan, now opened up to the world, and build the school of his dreams. After his talk, people begin to donate money to him for he has not one cent to even begin building the school.

Out of all the people he later tells of one old woman who came up to him. She was very frail and old but had a big heart. She had come a long way by train to go to his talks. She was very moved by his young passion and gives him all the money she has with her. It is actually the money for the train ride home. At first Joseph refuses. He can't take it, he says. But the old woman insists and shoves the money into his hands. She says she will walk home and tells him she is rooting for him. Before Joseph can say any more, the old woman begins to walk home and doesn't look back. Joseph could not forget her kindness. She who had nothing but the train fare gave it all to him so that he could make his dream come true. He vows to make her money worth it and soon when he returns to Japan, collects a group of like-minded people and creates a college.

My junior high and high school was named after him. The funny story was that he actually told his friends that if he dies, he does not want a school named after him. But they did it anyway because they respected him and wanted his legacy to live on.

Anyway, the point I want to make here is that people will respect you if you gave when you yourself had so little. THAT is generosity. Rich people giving just because they can is not generous. It's very selfish and arrogant. Those people are just saying, "Oh, look at me, I'm being very generous right now giving to charity! Look at how kind I am. You can respect me. Look, see?"

They are just doing it to make themselves look good. Shame on them. Of course, there are definitely rich people with a generous heart. But most of the time it is those who have so little that have the generous hearts. Unless of course someone who wins the lottery but gives it all over to charity then, that's different. That person can be respected because they gave all and left themselves nothing.

Well, that's the end of that.

See ya later, alligator.

How to edit pictures on PicMonkey and maybe Foto Flexer???

(For those who don't know PicMonkey and Foto Flexer, they are the best FREE online photo editing sites. Also iPiccy is pretty great too because you can do crazy things with the text like this:
This one I used Foto Flexer, PicMonkey, iPiccy. Sometimes I go in for the full treatment.

so yeah, a pic in parentheses is crazy. Also, on iPiccy, you can change the height of the text which is awesome.)

Should I make a blog with that title? It's not too hard to learn to make your own fantasy pics if you've got a good camera. Not to brag but... I do think I've gotten pretty good at it though I still rely on fantasy wallpapers to satisfy my needs for moons and planets and stuff.

So... comment if you wanna learn some good juicy stuff :D

DO NOT STEAL!!!

Then you can make pics like this:

You can find the titles of these pics on my other posts... I'm too lazy right now to look them up and put them all in.

I HAVE FAITH IN YOU GUYS! DO NOT STEAL!!

I can also show you how to add words to pics and make them look snazzy :D
Such as these covers I made for "Figment: Write Yourself In".

Celebrating unofficial Random Day

This, awful, awful photo is one of my first attempts at Foto Flexer. The bird is something I cut out from another wallpaper and the autumn painting is also an iPhone wallpaper. I think they're from the same app... not so sure... At one time I had about five different iPhone wallpaper apps. It was like an obsession...possibly an addiction when I found lots of apps you can download for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! It was a big thing back when iPhones were still so freakishly new. And now they are freakishly normal. WOW technology.

The reason that pic is there is because I thought it would be appropriate for this random celebration of the unofficial Random Day. It's the day where you do random things, just so you should know.

So, here are a bunch of random comments about random stuff.

I have 802 pageviews on World Problems and Randomness... is that a good thing even if you don't have any followers? Darn it, I am going to get this blog out there somehow. Somehow...

I once laughed so hard no sound came out and I felt I was suffocating but could not stop. I was playing Madlibs with my mother and we conjured a hilarious one. Oh mah gawd, MADLIBS is SOOOOOO funny! XD You literally make this face. I'm serious.

Uhm... how do you start YouTube even when you haven't gone to film school? How do you go about editing the videos? How much of your life will that take up?

Some people think about thinking... it's called Japanese Humble Psychology... it's not but it should be called that. Lots of Japanese say, "Oh, well, I was thinking about doing that...so I've been thinking, you know?" JUST SAY IT ALREADY! ENOUGH WITH THE ANTICIPATION! Good grief!

I can seriously count the number of openly lesbian couples I've seen in Japan. The answer is ONE. ONE openly lesbian couple. They looked so sweet together :) And I do see girls holding hands but friends do that and so do sisters and cousins so you can't really tell if they are a couple or not.

There are some things that I have convinced myself over the years that I like:

Parsley = But I stopped that nonsense. When I was in elementary school I thought I was being grown up for liking it when I HATED it. Oh kids :/

Raisins = For basically the same reasons as parsley but I tried to force myself to like them because my mother did and so did many other people so I guess it was kind of an unconscious attempt to try to "blend in" with the "crowd".

Owls = Yes, owls. At some point in my life I decided that I had to have more than one favorite animal. I liked cats and let almost everyone know it but... I don't really know when... at some point I decided that I liked owls. I still do say I like them. They are cute. But... that's all I can say about them. I really honestly don't know why I like owls.

Tigers = I don't know why I claim to like tigers enough to put them in my favorite animal category. I mean, I guess when I found out that they might go extinct I thought it was rude or something (?) not to like them to an obsessive level the way I like cats... well, maybe not TOO obsessive. I will declare that I say I like tigers in a sympathetic way.

Kind of like "Oh, I'm the only one who cares about you tigers so, so, so much I want to help you... I will protect you and make you my favorite animal! No one has forgotten about you! I am here for you tigers!!!"

But I don't LOVE tigers. Maybe it would change if I ever met one in person (or in tiger?)...I don't know.

I can't really think of anything else I claim to like... not really. I'm usually pretty straightforward with my likes and dislikes. Anyway *shrugs*

Well, I guess that's about it for this blog...

Peace, OUT! :D

Hmm, I need a better signature ending... I'll think of one... later.

Anyways, Happy Random Day! Stay random, peeps! :D

Ah, life :/ AND Pic-Edit GALLERY

I like things to be real, so here's a reality check.

People are the rudest, most selfish, and evil creatures to be living on this planet. And, we are in full denial about it. That's why we could care less about all those forests we're burning, the animals we're killing and sending into extinction, and the earth we're polluting. We don't need industrialization. We need the earth.

Animals have a better easier life. Either to kill or be killed... I think "Circle of Life" song had that in the non-Disney version.

There is no such thing as TRUE love. Love comes with lies and white lies. Nothing is ever TRUE.

On the same lines, TRUTH is the pearl hidden in the locked treasure chest at the bottom of the sea. It is hard to find and even when you find the chest, it takes effort to unlock it.

Love is harder than math. Me hating math is a personal opinion.

There is no such thing as destiny. It is this fantasy we humans have come up with to make our lives sound happy and gleeful when the reality is full of hardships.

Every time we pass someone on the streets or watch people live their lives, we are sharing, though maybe not co-sharing, their life with them. In that one moment of their life, we share with them. Our lives are all intertwined and intimate. A peek in the life of someone that we may never see again... kinda interesting when you think about it.

The old saying "Never judge a book by its cover" can be true lots of times. Don't expect a girl with glasses to be studious or a guy with crazy rainbow hair in a black leather jacket to be related to the Mafia. Don't expect that girl who doesn't have any friends to truly be an unfriendly person. Susan Boyle and Paul Potts showed you shouldn't judge how someone looks and think they will be awful singers. Certainly there are lots of singers who are beautiful but surely there are lots of voices that are beautiful as well. Faces aren't everything.

Humans are the only creatures that judge others to the point of discrimination. Animals don't judge each other. Because we judge one another, we are below animals. Animals are BETTER than us.

Narcissists are actually very, very, insecure and lonely people. Curing them would need psychological help. You don't need to be MENTALLY ill to have to talk to a psychologist.

The word GAY means HAPPY. Is that why so many gay people seem to be very happy and funny and easy going people?

Lesbian love should not be seen in a SEXUAL way. I think it should be a form of art. It is very beautiful.

Though it IS true that love CAN have no boundaries, students should not date teachers and teachers should not date students. At least wait until graduation. And if a guy is thirty and the girl is eighteen, you might want to question that first before you go on.

If we continue to destroy our earth, humans might die out before anything else happens to us. We just might end up killing ourselves. Well, at least nature wouldn't have to "take care" of us then. "Take care" as in kill. Not nurture. The earth does not nurture us. We are using the earth to nurture ourselves.

So, why did we evolve in the first place? What is the reason? Is it so that we can destroy the earth so that thousands and millions of years later we can start over? Could it be that we have already started over thousands of times and this technology we have today is just a step further than what we had in our Former Earth? What did the beings before us do? Could their leftover knowledge still be lingering somewhere in our minds? How many times do we need to start over until we finally make the Perfect Earth?

Chew on that.

Title: It Was Yesterday...
Made by: N. J. Folettia
I cut the girl out from another pic that I liked and put her into this beautiful wallpaper. Then I added some waves from PicMonkey and altered the color a few times. The stick by the tree is a person who I did not put there.

Title: Castle Among the Stars
Made by: N. J. Folettia
The castle is from, I think, some pic of England or Scotland and I overlayed lots of starry wallpapers. The clouds on the left are not part of the original pic, which I took. The mountains and the city in front are from an original photograph. The sunset has been enhanced and more light has been added. Also, I made the sky above darker to contrast with the rest of the picture and give it more balance.

And finally, one of my early attempts at creating a fantasy pic. I made this 4 years ago so... I was in my last year of high school. I was just finding out the joy of fantasy-pic making.
Title: Sunflower Ocean (maybe)
Made by: N. J. Folettia
You might notice that... this is one of my early attempts at trying to create a fantasy world. But the problem here is, the picture of the sunflowers is on the tails of the dolphins. Today, I could easily...well, maybe with a little patience, take that part off so it looks more natural. Also, I'll definitely have to put it through a green cross-process because it is just way too blue and seems way too unreal. Let this pic be a lesson to all who are trying to do photo editing for the first time.
