Like, we can't say
"What on earth is that???" because we're on Mars now. We have to say "What on Mars is that???" But I bet many things on Mars will be new to us so we won't have to worry about saying it at all. But once we get used to seeing certain things and seeing that they are all normal for Mars, then we can finally say
"What on Mars is that???" when we see something on Mars that we didn't expect to see on Mars.
Do you get that?
Kinda confusing, huh?
We can't say "earthquakes" either. It'll have to be "marsquakes" or just "quakes". Because we're from Earth, we call the shaky-shaky stuff "earthquakes". We also can't say "...and the earth was dry and there was red dust everywhere." Because we're on Mars now. "...and the land was dry and there was red dust everywhere."
Earth is the only planet that has words made up of it's name.
But we can still be called "Earthlings" because we have come from Earth onto Mars. The children born on Mars can be called Martians or Marsions or Marslings when they visit Earth.
So you see, if we do ever decide, or find a way to live on Mars, we'll have to be careful of our wording. Earth has it's own words, that conceited little thing, and we cannot say them on Mars or the REAL Martians might come and attack us and tell us to go back to our conceited little planet.
