Yes. There is a thing called Leisure Studies :)

Let meh tell ya 'bout it!

So, first of all, first, first of the first thing's first, how did I meet Leisure Studies?


It was a dreamy afternoon in a classroom with about eight students and one teacher. We all sat in a circle and introduced ourselves.

Then, I met Leisure Studies.

No, they weren't one of the students. They were something apparently people study.

Yes, Leisure Studies is a field of academia.

NOT macadamia.


You know, like Commerce or Psychology or Biology. If you study Commerce, you study about things like markets and trade and business-y stuff...which most often involves math (yuck). If you study Psychology, you get to mess with people's brains...just kidding :P You study about the brain, feelings, how different colors make people feel...and stuff like that. If you study Biology, you study animals and people and how the body works and the gooey insides and the fleshy stuff and science and all those good things.

If you study Leisure, you study, urm, well, leisure. Actually, that's the best explanation I can give.

I look up "just kidding meme" and the first one is Barack Obama.
Interesting.

In Leisure Studies you ask things like

"What's the difference between 'leisure', 'work', and 'labor (labour)?"
"Is work, leisure?"
"What is leisure?"
"Is there a difference between work and labor?"
"Can work be labor?"
"Can you enjoy work?"
"What are writers, YouTubers, researchers?"
"Do they work?"
"Or is it more for leisure?"
"Is there a fine line between the two?"
"Any cookies?"
"Or maybe cookie dough?"
"Dinosaurs?"
"Flamingos flying?"
"Coffee lovers hating tea?"
"Pretend or reali-tea?"

Very philosophical stuff.
