Disney's Hidden Message in the Propaganda "The Spirit of '43" ??

Watch "The Spirit of '43" which came out in 1943.

I heavily advise you to turn down your volume for the first part of the video down below. The person who put it up included their own little intro and it's pretty loud while the rest of the video you kinda have to turn it up.

This is Disney's propaganda film, as you may have noticed.

In the short, there is a part where Donald Duck goes over to the thrifter hitler duck and knocks him out making the doors to the saloon crash.

The saloon doors clearly show some kind of symbol.

Here it is again in case you missed it:

What da heck is this? It is definitely something.

That, what is it? Does anyone know? It's driving me (a little) crazy.

Tell me someone!

...looking at this website which holds the answer...oh :/ Okay...

Just found out it was V for victory but what is the dot dot dot line...oh the music. Every time the enemy is destroyed, the music goes

DA DA DA DUUUUUMMM!

What has the music got to do with V for victory though?

And apparently Disney has another short called "The New Spirit" (1942) which is really heavily related to "The Spirit of '43" and apparently "The Spirit of '43" recycled the last sequence of scenes. And if you watch it, you'll see.

See?

Well, I need to apparently quit saying apparently because I did get the info from Wikipedia.

Wikipedia: The Spirit of '43

Wikipedia: The New Spirit

In both sequences, the first ship they sink is, I believe, a Japanese ship.

"Guns! All kinds of guns! DA DA DA DUUUUUMMMM To blast the aggressors from the seas."

This is definitely a reference to the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the symbol on the ship is the flag...I think.

The Rising Sun Flag, it's called. It was the wartime flag of the Imperial Japanese Army. According to Wiki, there seems to be some kind of special difference depending on the placement of the circular sun part.

Don't call me out on anything here. I just think that Disney's propaganda films are very interesting. Disney, to me, is Aladdin, Bambi, Cinderella, Pinocchio, The Princess and the Frog, The Little Mermaid, and all those other films with happy endings.

It's really interesting to see Disney's relatively naive characters in these propaganda films, informing the public to pay their taxes which, apparently are "high thanks to Hitler and Hirohito" as the good scottish duck mentions in "The Spirit of '43".

THANK GOD THE TAXES ARE HIGH, YES WE ARE GRATEFUL

It stinks of sarcasm cheese.

Let's leave it to be.

See ya later, alligators! :D
