We Are So Insignificant

I'm hoping I'm not the only one who, as a child, was slightly interested in the idea of black holes and the big bang and how everything got started and how it might all end some day.

There are lots of theories about our universe.

The Big Bang Theory. That, after a big bang, everything started to happen and wala, here we are.

There is also one about The Big Crush where instead of expanding and expanding, the universe is actually going to get denser and smaller and soon collapse on itself.  Maybe become a black hole or something. But this theory can be proved wrong because apparently, recently some scientist discovered that the spaces between galaxies are actually much wider apart than they were when the universe was in its infancy.

That's the expanding theory, kinda. Guys, do your own research! I dare you :)

At this point the universe sounds like a big balloon or bubble. But won't that mean it might go POP! some day?

Anyway, there are also theories and science that says the Andromeda (spelling?) Galaxy is slowly slowly coming toward us and will, in about 3 billion or so years, collide with the Milky way Galaxy and cause explosions and chaos. There is a good chance Earth will die.  There is apparently a lucky chance it will get thrown out into space to, I don't know where. (Info from YouTube BBC Death Star).

It got me thinking...

You know, the universe doesn't really care if we (humans) are alive or not. To think about that, is hard, maybe, I don't know. But since the universe doesn't care about us, it also doesn't care if we get destroyed in the process of the life cycle of the universe.

I said life cycle cuz maybe, there were universes and civilizations before us who got destroyed by the universe. Those civilizations may have been human like us, or they may have never, never, never evolved into the human beings we are today.

Hey, maybe the universe is getting upgraded.

See, here's my idea.

There is a universe with a civilization that hasn't figured out how to go as far as the middle ages. The universe makes some apocalyptic thing happen and destroys all life. But then it creates a new one and this time this new one discovered weapons and gun powder and all that "great" stuff. But it never went as far as that. It never achieved the goal of complete progression (or whatever).

So they get destroyed.

Then the universe tries again. It creates (us). We go through each stage of civilization and finally come to technology and even begin to explore our creator (Universe). Whether the universe is satisfied with this race, I have no idea but maybe we're on the right track and that's why we're not dead yet.

Unless
of course
we end up destroying ourselves.

Anyway, I'm not saying blah about religion or about science. It's just my opinion. I know some of you might say

"Well, it sounds like you think the universe has some sort of conscience.  Wouldn't that be god?"

Well, maybe it does have a conscience. Not a moral one or a god one but maybe there is something there that, since we think it is impossible, we have never really noticed it.

The universe is so very interesting.

Question for you guys: What is your universe theory? And do you think there is an "edge" in the universe? I'm not suggesting it's flat.  But hey, we don't know it's round either, right?

Celebrities: What Emily Osment, Jennifer Lawrence, and Lorde have in common

So, I rarely talk about celebrities just because I could care less what goes on in their lives. It's just the same as ours only a little bit more hectic. The pictures you will see are of wallpapers I slightly edited and added lyrics from songs that I thought represented the actresses / singers. Only Lorde has one of her own.

Anyway,

Emily Osment interview on Clixoom.de

This video, which you should watch, will make you realize how awkward the interview is...no, uhm, I mean, how down to earth Emily Osment is.  You probably remember her from the Hannah Montana series as Lily Truscot and I don't know what else she's been doing besides singing because I don't keep up with that stuff.

So, according to the interview, her star life and her private life are completely separate and she likes it that way. She doesn't like people invading her life and asking about her bfs (past, present, and possible candidates or if she's dating other celebrities).

I chose this Hilary Duff song "Wake Up" because it's about a normal person living the normal life, making mistakes on the way but being completely fine with it. Even when sometimes, life gets difficult and hard to deal with. We ALL live the best way we can.

And... most of you probably know Jennifer Lawrence to be down to earth as well. When she talks in interviews she sounds so much like any normal girl who goes to a normal school and has normal friends she goofs around with. She's probably the most REAL actress I've seen in a long time... maybe the most REAL actress ever. And I really like that she openly talks about being photoshopped and not liking it and how everything is kind of fake in magazines...well let's face it, people will do anything to make money off of celebrities.

(I like how she smiles. It's like "Aw the heck with everything! *throws arms up in the air in sarcastic gesture*" Sorry Jennifer Lawrence if you are offended by this. But your smile is very natural and open and running-around-on-an-open-field-in-autumn smile.)
Okay, for the lyrics I chose "We Are Who We Are" by Little Mix (my favorite girl group) and Bryan Adams' "Here I Am" from the movie "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron". It's a very nice movie and I've watched it sooooo many times and I'm still not tired of it. "Here I Am" really represents Jennifer Lawrence because she is so HERE and NOW and REAL, if that makes any sense to you guys.

Our third down-to-earth girl is Lorde. A lot of people don't seem to like her when she's on stage. At first I didn't know what was the big deal until I saw a video of her performing "Royals". It looked like, as some people said, she was posessed by the music. But I KNEW that she had a good reason to be doing that. So, Wikiwikiwiki! Apparently, she becomes one with the music and feels the rhythm.

Considering the fact that her "Royals" music video was originally not supposed to have her face in it at all, I can understand why she wanted to put herself in the back. I think to her, the singer is not as important as a person but rather more like an instrument that you listen to.

When she dances, she IS the music. Just another instrument.

Anyway, back to why I think she's down to earth. She has apparently stated many times about singers being marketed as products and well, you guys know, right? I mean, even though they ARE known, Hilary Duff doesn't seem to be a big deal anymore or even Cher Lloyd. It's like this SPARK! and then that's it.

I also like how Lorde's songs are down to earth, too. They sing about real stuff. REAL stuff I mean. Keep up the good work, Lorde :)

"And I'm only as young as the minute is full of it" is definitely about the SPARK! I talked about. Oh, and I tried to make Lorde's picture look like she was on a TV screen.

And... I put Cher Lloyd's down to earth music "Behind The Music" which talks about how singers have to be able to stand behind their music so that the public will always be on their tail otherwise their music will just fade out. Maybe Cher Lloyd is a bit down to earth, too.

I really like the lyrics "I know just who I am / And just who I'm not". Exactly the things Lorde talks about all the time in interviews and in her songs.

Finally, this is what all singers do.

The Something = Nothing Theory (SuperCarlinBrothers video link linked!)

So, Nothing. What is nothing? Well, it is definitely something that I have often thought about and thought I was the only one to think so deeply but then...

SuperCarlinBrothers video about NOTHING

Someone else has thought about it and posed a new theory that I didn't have! :) yay face

His theory was that, nothing is an area sort of, where it's just clear. And Clear is like a new color. It can't be something that we can imagine. Hmmm...deep...

Here's my theory and I even wrote a poem on this if I can find it...um...later.

So, imagine a box. It is empty. You are asked to say what is in it. You look inside. You will probably say,

"There's nothing in here!"

And yes, there IS nothing in there. Well, nothing that you can see, that is.

But think about it, there could be these minute pieces of dust that we can't see with the naked eye. And, not to mention air that is all around us otherwise we'd probably suffocate by just looking inside the box to see if there is anything in there. It's like outerspace where...we can't breath.

But
it isn't.

So, if we look with our naked eye and see nothing. It is just Nothing By Our Naked Eye.

Then imagine you were asked to look inside the box using a microscope. I had this...miniature microscope thing my grandmother's brother (who I just called "uncle" because he's my mother's uncle) gave me. It can zoom in on fabric and stuff until you see the threads twining together and stuff. It's pretty cool for an only child who doesn't have playmates in her house when both her parents are busy with work and household stuff.

Anyway. When you look at the box, you'd see a close up of the stuff it's made out of. Is that nothing? No. It is something. Ha! There, I proved to you that there is indeed something in that empty box.

Okay, here's where it gets tricky.
