If...women weren't forced to wear makeup...

These days it seems that the natural look is the look that is in.

You know, "in"?

Many celebs like Lady Gaga seem to have gone for a natural look of natural-color makeup or no makeup.

It's kinda sad I recognized Sofia Vergara from the right-hand side
pic as she has commonly been seen on Ellen.
She looks fine on the left, too.
I never wear makeup.

I see it as a good thing. I mean, makeup is expensive, it can damage your skin, it's fake, and there's lots of bad stereotypes for women who wear too much makeup.

I don't think women should be forced to wear makeup anymore. Sure in the medieval days they HAD to because it was part of the fashion and in those days everything was very gender-separated.

But now, today, there are too many genders to keep track of so what's the point of wearing makeup anymore besides hiding blemishes or wrinkles?

I have no problem with older people wearing makeup or people with Acne wearing makeup. But the rest of us? Nah, we don't need that ish.

Now, back to the title...imagine a world where women are not forced to wear makeup and answer to the social gender stereotypes.

What kind of world do you see?

I see a free world. A world that will accept you no matter who you are. A world that won't hold a grudge against you even if you didn't wax your eyebrows. In this world, natural beauty is the best thing ever.

Emma Watson with no makeup.
She looks fine to me.
Personally, I don't understand guys who WANT women to wear makeup. It's like they're saying, "Oh, you have a face like that? Nope, not good enough for me. Hide all that stuff you were naturally born with, cover it up with some white powder and red paint and THEN and only THEN will I want to be seen next to you."

Harsh? What's wrong with that? Sometimes we need to see these things in a harsh light because that is definitely what it sounds like. So guys, don't make comments like that that force women to wear makeup because you have made them feel insecure about their natural beauty.

In a world where women are not forced to wear makeup to comply to the gender roles in society, natural beauty is so awesome and unibrows and thin lips are a must in beauty magazines. Heck, Photoshop brush-ups are non-existent as well.

And ladies, you are beautiful as you are. If you NEED to put makeup on for your guy, sit down with your natural face on and see if he sees your natural beauty. If he doesn't, he's probably not for you. He's Ken looking for Barbie.

Harsh? Yup, that's my middle name :P
I'm N. Harsh Folettia.

Just kidding :P

See ya later, natural-faced alligators! :D

  1. I would say that women aren't 'forced' to wear make-up, many women just choose to wear it and it's reinforced so much in magazines and in the media. Women generally like taking care of ourselves and looking good and from a biological standpoint that is to 'attract a mate' although nowadays many women just want to look good for ourselves. I don't really wear make-up often - I used to when I was a bit younger but not anymore, I find it too time-consuming. I don't think guys really care whether or not girls wear make-up, I would say we're the ones who care more and judge each other on how we look.
