I wonder what the world looked like before people came to trash it...
Oh, hi! I didn't know you were there. Sorry, I just got kind of... frustrated, if you know what I mean. Sometimes I see all this trash around and wonder why people of all people would do such a thing. It's like they don't care...and they actually don't, you know.
First see, the bacteria were hanging around, then creatures in the water, then one guy decides to climb up onto land. That's where we start. I'm not doing any research tonight so you can look up the details yourself. Then we all start to evolve. Then people came out. Not out of the blue, it's evolution. We probably trashed the earth back then but lots of stuff was able to decompose and return to the ground so it wasn't like there was any garbage around.
But then, people got smart. They started to evolve in their brains. What happened after that? Plastic, metal, aluminum, paper, fabric, Styrofoam, oil, soap... lots of stuff we thought were "convenient" emerged. At one point in Japan in a certain prefecture, there were so many factories that the air was always filled with awful smells, smoke, and toxic stuff that the children had to go to school wearing masks even when they didn't have a cold! That's pollution, people.
Not just factories but people's houses did awful things, too. You know that dish washing soap? I don't know about now because it has gotten much better but, that soapy water would drain into rivers and streams and even all the way to the ocean! Those poor fishies...
Some places in China are so dirty, that the water is all gunky and yucky. Who would want to live in a place with icky water? Gross!
You know what else the people did to the earth? If you're an adult, I hope you know that paper is made from trees. Hey, you there, nodding your head like it's an interesting fact, don't think you have me fooled, how come you didn't pay attention at school, huh?
Anyway, people cut down trees to make paper, then sometimes they leave the area bare and don't plant more trees instead. You should always give back what you take.
Yikes, it's almost 23:00 and I'm running out of time!
Okay, here's the thing, trees, they suck in all the CO2 that we breathe out and that cars and stuff shove into the innocent air. The trees then blow out oxygen believe it or not and you better because it is scientifically proven! So what happens if there are less trees...? More CO2 right? What does CO2 do? It causes global warming. Look up the details yourself.
And what do factories do? CO2. All that smoke and stuff, that has carbon dioxide in it. Which is CO2. It's the same thing, okay? If the sky is covered in CO2, what happens then?
The o-zone layer breaks and the sun directly penetrates the earth. The o-zone layer is the thing that protects us from the direct ultra violet rays of the sun. Ultra violet rays can be hazardous to your skin. I know that much now look up the rest yourself. Research doesn't always have to be school work and gloom you know. It can be fun. Maybe you can have a Researching Contest with your friends?
So, anyway, how can we stop this? Well, killing the human race so the earth can thrive is a sacrificing approach but I don't think it's such a good idea. How about all those "smart" ideas we had in the past and still do now? You know, "convenience"? That could be dealt with. We could ride bicycles more if we're only traveling a short distance. If we needed to go long distances and need a car, we need more Eco friendly ones. At least that has been changing.
What else can we do? How about plastic? That stuff, you know, even if it goes to a landfill, it doesn't decompose very well and could even stay intact for many, many, many years. Animals can choke on plastic when they eat it, thinking that it's food. Whoa, I didn't say anything about creating smarter animals. That's not the point here. And what would you do if man's best friend was smarter than you, eh?
We should stop making anything plastic. Bringing our own Eco bags aren't good enough. We need to take more action. Even if your whole town uses Eco bags and the next-door town doesn't what's the point? See, there is no point. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE has to pitch in here.
Now how about water pollution? How about electricity? How about fossil fuels? How about all the waste we produce?
...You know, we humans have sooooooooooooo much stuff to fix even though we are sooooooooooooooo tiny compared to the gigantic earth that we live on. And you know what, HALF the world is worrying about other stuff like war, guns, nuclear power plants that are pointless when we have all kinds of other ways to get electricity, immigration, human rights, poverty... I know what you're thinking. Of course that stuff is soooooooooooo important to deal with but... by they time we solve it and look up, what if... what if the beautiful earth is all gone by then? What if we don't see the damage we've done to it?
...What if it's too late?
Now is not too late... I hope. We need to take care of the place we live on before we take care of ourselves. Stop talking about guns America, stop fighting you people in Palestine and other countries over there, stop doing stuff that will provoke conflict China, stop being complete idiots about matters I could solve for you in a matter of minutes. This isn't a time for conflict, you hear?!
Look, I don't mean to be controversial or harsh. I'm a person who just cares about the world, about the people (even the people that get on my nerves), about the animals that are becoming non-existent thanks to all your selfish actions, and someone who is still too small to do anything alone. There are these tigers in Indonesia that are becoming extinct because of poaching... which has nothing to do with this post, but I asked my Indonesian friend if he knew about it. He said he didn't care. What the freaking little... sorry, I shall control my anger for your sake.
But hey, I can't do it alone people! You need to notice stuff. Look around you... no I don't mean looking like just plain ole lookin, I MEAN LOOK. Like really look. EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE so we must save it. In "Hugo", the boy Hugo said that all things have a purpose so there isn't one thing that is useless. He was talking about himself but I really liked that line because it can be applied to anything. If you haven't seen the movie "Hugo" you should.
Anyway don't take this beautiful earth for granted. When you look the next time, it might not be there, you know.
Never mind if I keep going off topic. The point is, we need to care for our earth just like we keep house or organize our room. Only the house is the earth and the residents are all the people who live on it.
I didn't even revise this post except for spellcheck so... don't bother commenting on that part. But do state your ideas, please. At least someone cares... right? Right?
